Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I was able to get a slice over the weekend while visiting. Have always loved their deep dish pizza by the slice since college days. I tried to go on a Friday night and was closed!! The bars weren't even closed yet so was surprised to see they weren't open. Was able to go the next day and get a slice of sausage pizza. Affordable and the same as what I remember. Yummy. Wish they sold the cheese sticks at the counter as well tho!

This place is the poster child for "We don't give a F*&k" businesses. Dirty, messy, disheveled kitchen and ordering area. No discernible menu (I don't believe that thing above the dirty pizza warmer is the actual menu), a couple random movie posters. Employees just walking around the "kitchen" munching on slices of pizza in full view of the customers. It's one step above the most horrifying pizza place I've ever been in Chicago. BUT I get it. They don't have to care, because with thousands of drunk college students walking past during the school year and $2.50 slices, it's fish in a barrel. How was the pizza? We had slices. They are cheap, filling, and I really enjoyed the sausage. Very cheesy, and the Spinach/Tomato pie was a little old (slow night, I understand), but delicious with fresh spinach and big hunks of actual tomato slices. We even got the last slice of the SpinTom free. How was the service? We ordered slices, we got slices. The guy we dealt with was chill. He also impressively flipped a whole pizza right in front of us. It is pretty no-nonsense. The place seems a little sketchy, but it is what it is: Low priced pizza seemingly designed with over-served students in mind. The place has been here for a while, I imagine it's not going anywhere. I'll probably be back, that sausage slice needs testing after I have had some serious dranks.

Location is weird. Do not eat in - there are like 5 tables and the eating area is oddly laid out and dirty. When you're ordering there is no menu to view. The pizza is ok though. Basically on par with Pizza Hut or dominoes.

Hands down my favorite pizza in the whole state, maybe even the country! Falbos and I go way back to college and I made sure to make a stop every time I came back during the time I lived out of state. It's the perfect amount of gooey-cheesy-greasy and I have always had consistently awesome food. Closest real life pizza to the delicious looking pizza from the TMNT cartoons I watched as a kid.

Delicious pizza and and the sell it by the slice! Oh yeah! This pizza is more of a traditional crust style which is fine for most. The dough has a nice taste, it is hand tossed in store and has a soft finish when cooked. Sauce is good, has a good rich flavor to it not much of a spice kick, but a hearty flavor. The cheese blend works well for me has the right mix, and the pepperoni given in a healthy amount of coverage with a nice taste. I really like their pizza, I am a bit picky on pizza at times but they get a thumbs up for a quality pie.

I have no idea how this place has good reviews. I had a pizza delivered and it was horrible. The cheese is most likely the cheapest you can legally serve, the toppings were on top of the cheese so they just fell off as you're trying to eat it, and the sauce and crust were tasteless. Onions were one of my toppings and they didn't separate them before throwing them on so you would just get a huge bite full of raw onion. I learned my lesson. Never again.

Ordered 2 pizzas and cheesesticks and was told it'd be 60 minutes. 90 minutes later it finally showed up, delivered by a driver wreaking of cigarette smoke and the pizzas were warm at best and definitely nothing special. A poor first impression and a lesson learned to order from someone else the next time.

I live pretty close to them and I loooove getting their lunch special slices or their late night slices! Mmmmmmmm!! Fat cheesy slices with a supportive loving crust - theeee perfect cheap filling lunch or delicious drunchies! Keep your Liquor House receipt and redeem it later that night for a free slice of Falb's ;)

$2 for the best slice of pizza in town. What else do you need? Don't listen to the Debbie downers who claim it's only good if you're drunk. However, this is definitely not Chicago style pizza despite many people thinking it is.

The minimum standard for Pizza in Iowa City, Falbos has raised generation after generation of drunken, stumbling college students with the life saving complex carbohydrate heavy $2 pizza slices. A mandatory meal stop if ever in Iowa City.
(5)Justin W.
Not just the best pizza in town, it's the best pizza ever. A review doesn't do it justice, you just have to eat it. If I were in some sort of batman scenario and had to choose whether to save my girlfriend, my sidekick, or a slice of Falbos from being dumped into a vat of sharks, I would choose Falbos without any hesitation. If I could rate these guys with infinate stars, I would. Seriously.

Cheap pizza, but the sauce tastes like something you'd get from Walmart. If you like cheap deepdish this is a good choice.

Really good pizza and bread/cheese sticks. So far this is the best pizza I have had in Iowa city. Their delivery is very fast and they always get the order correct.
(4)Ed N.
It ain't Fat Slice or Blondies but it has a similar feel to the place. Pizza was good and cheap. Cool little slice and a beverage deals.

Falbo Bros Pizza is always a crowd pleaser for the ways they take traditional Pizza a step further. They've got your "normies" with the classic pepperoni, cheese and other renditions of pig, but when they start busting out the pesto mushroom and chicken BBQ, there's magic in yonder box! Always a fan of the square cut pie reminiscent of little ceasars, but spawned from a circular mold! The masterpiece allows everyone to find the slice with their preferred topping to crust ratio as well as invites the struggle for who gets to enjoy the small pseudo corner pieces that are mysteriously present near the end of the meal! Good prices and while it's a bit on the greasy side, it's legit pizza and well worth grabbing, especially when you've got a group who's down for something different, but familar!

While I was a bit leary of the shop itself, the pizza is DELICIOUS! There are few places in the midwest that you can get just a slice of pizza instead of the whole pie and this is one of them. However, after having just one slice, you'll wish you had ordered the whole pie. The pizzas with the "normal" toppings are nice, nothing special, but some of the special pizzas... wonderful! I enjoy Ben's Other... it is as simple as spinach, tomato, and garlic, but it is heaven on a slice. In fact, just reviewing it makes me want to go for a drive to get a slice.
(4)Alison S.
I love Falbos because it's good as a drunk by-the-slice meal at bar close and also good as a sober meal. Delicious crust, cheap price (slices) and their veggie pizza is soo good!
(4)Jonathan B.
Arguably Iowa City's best delivery pizza and closest thing to Chicago-style you'll find here. Falbos was a college staple and certainly puts to shame any of the chain late night delivery pizza available. The deep dish is really filling and the thin crust is tasty too. They do several specialty pies but with Falbo's the simple is best - sausage and cheese or tomato and basil is absolutely perfect.

same great pizza with creepy service

If you want super greasy pepperoni pizza, you'll love it. I don't mean that in a bad way at all - that's pretty much the only kind I ever order from there anymore. Ate a lot of Falbo's slices in college at all 4 locations they were in while I was in school. Always had the best and cheapest slices at bar close - but the downtown staff is all a bunch of a-holes and always has been. Definitely not the cleanest looking group of employees either.

O, Falbo's...How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... Cheese... Pepperoni... Sausage... Margarita... At least 4 ways! I love you, Falbo's. The local competitors have nothing on you! (except for Mesa's variety, but that's their thing, ya know?) Your pizza slices are bigger, better, and cheaper. The help may have an edge but have always been friendly to me, and they have good taste in music. I give you 2 powerfists and some air guitar. *air guitar*

I ordered my first Falbo's chicago style stuffed pizza last week. I waited for an hour and a half to get my meal and they never came. When I called back the person that answered the phone told me the delivery guy was on his way. 1 hour later I call back to find out the delivery driver had told them I didn't answer my cell phone or the knock on the front door so they left the pizza on the front stoop. I had been standing by the door with phone in hand waiting, no one ever came to my door. Not to mention my entire meal was allegedly in front of someone else's door. The man on the phone told me there was nothing he could do and hung up. When I called back and asked the supervisor if this was some sort of scam, he informed me he would no longer take phone calls from my number. Literally all I did was order a pizza and got scammed out of it. Word of advice, don't get scammed, don't order Falbo's.

Actually pretty good, when you are hammered. Only have gotten slices, when I was young and really tubby. I am reading other reviews about deep dish pizza...head east, young man! Illinois has the best pizza ever! I highly recommend for those who are slammed in Iowa City. I think I ate 4 slices one night, and I lived to tell about it!
(3)Charles A.
Good pizza only had it once tho. Crust was really good!
(4)S J.
If your idea of good pizza is a thick undercooked crust, mediocre toppings, and a ton of grease, then I guess this place is for you. Good for when you're drunk I suppose. For pizza by the slice, I usually try to go to the Wedge downtown since they have better toppings and crust. This is definately the type of place I only go to late at night to satisfy munchy cravings and everything else is closed.
(2)Amanda C.
You can't really beat a $2 slice of pizza. I'd probably get a slice every night if I lived nearby. I thought the pizza was good... it is greasy but that's expected. It has a thicker crust than most slice places and varieties include pepperoni, sausage, cheese, and "The Benz," which is tomatoes and spinach. Good place to stop in for a slice!
(4)Megan Z.
Their deep dish pizza is probably one of the best in the area. My friend and I used to treat ourselves to Falbo's (and boy was it a treat!!). We would order it to go, take it home in the car, and by the time we were home the pizza was the perfect temp to eat. This is by far not a low-cal pizza--its loaded with toppings and cheese-- but it sure is a tasty pizza!:)
(5)Karrey S.
Probably the best stoner-delivery pizza in town. Great prices, and the food isn't "dangerous". My only complaint is regarding the crust. I'm a crust person, and this is a little cardboard-y when it's fresh. It actually gets better when you reheat it!
(4)Ed F.
The day after Thanksgiving we were ready for something other than leftovers. So when Pagliai's had a 1 1/2 hour wait for carry-out we gave Falbo Bros. a try. We ordered 6 large pizzas all thin crust and it came to $92, not a bad price. The Italian sausage was excellent, the crust was just the right thickness and texture and great sauce. Their only downfall was canned mushrooms, which is usually cause to deduct a star but since the help was friendly and seemed to really appreciate our business, I felt they deserve five. If word gets out about this place, the wait times at Pagliai's will be getting a lot shorter...
(5)Dusty K.
This is another fairly good deep dish pizza option in Iowa City. I spent the better part of two years ordering from here at least once a month while in college. Pizza has the sauce on top and they actually use a two crust method; one being paper thin. It's hard to notice the two crusts unless you eat this pizza as much as I did. Great for late night delivery. You won't be disappointed.
(4)Suzi G.
Love Love Love them! The lunch special is such a great deal in Coralville and Iowa City. Not sure if they could get that cheese any more perfectly molded to the crust. It is a uniquely wonderful thing! My only prob? Please get back into your TAILGATE MOJO for '09! ! ! We missed Olive Court this year and YOU! Not the same blurry morning without hassling the owner for some hamburger and beef pizza! Maybe you could relocate to the Finkbine lot 8 ) puh-lease?
(5)James D.
While it seems they mostly rely on slices sold to the parade of drunken college kids on their way home from the bars, their thin crust pies are actually really good. The service is almost laughably bad (but I'd be surly too if my main customers were the the unappreciative drunk students who populate the S. Johnson area). The slices are big, greasy and cheap, perfect for absorbing the amounts of alcohol that these kids can put down in a night. If the employees feel like picking up the phone, and you get lucky and they actually make your pizza, and then haven't given it to someone else by the time you get there to pick it up, they make a surprisingly nice thin crust pizza. Spinach and sausage is particularly good.

I'd like to write a review of Falbo's Pizza but I just keep drooling on the keyboard. It's so dangerous that they are open late at night and so conveniently on the walk home. Those are some wily brothers.
